Membership Information

You will meet people, through our monthly meeting, who may have or have had the same type of birds as you. They can help with advice and experience on care, breeding, housing, and more.

As a member, you will receive a Monthly Newsletter that is full of information, with articles on bird care, maintenance and breeding.  Classified ads (bird related) are free for members or non members. This Newsletter will keep you informed of up coming bird events such as: marts, shows, and symposiums. We have a newsletter exchange with other bird clubs to let our members know of the bird events and birds or equipment for sale by members of other clubs.

As a member you will be able to purchase registered closed leg rings (bands). Regulations require that your baby birds be closed banded to prove that they are domestically raised birds (except Cockatiels, Budgerigars, Canaries). On these rings is the bird's ID number, the year it hatched and the initials of the club with whom the ring is registered. It is also a good way to keep track of and ID your birds and their blood lines.  NEW! Now you can order your leg bands  through the website!  E-mail us at rings@bcexoticbirdsociety.org. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CLUB DOES NOT STOCK BANDS, BUT WILL ORDER THEM FOR YOU EFFECTIVE, NOVEMBER, 2006.

As a member of The BC Exotic Bird Society you will have borrowing privileges from our Library of books and videos on bird species, healthcare, training, feeding, housing, building aviaries and cages, etc.
As a BC Exotic Bird Society member you can participate in many fun and interesting club activities, where you can mingle with the birds and bird-people!
